    In the Sole Employer model, you are the direct employer of record for your support workers. You have full authority to hire, train, schedule, supervise, and terminate your workers.     Who is the Sole Employer model best for?

    The Sole Employer model is designed for SDP participants who want complete control and autonomy over their support team. It is the highest-responsibility model and works best for participants (or their families) who are comfortable with employment decisions and want maximum flexibility in how they build and manage their care team.

    What is Service Code 317?

    Service Code 317 is the California DDS designation for the Sole Employer FMS model. It is the highest level of self-direction available in California's Self-Determination Program, giving the participant full employer status alongside Bill Payer (315) and Co-Employer (316).
